Hot Flash Remedy

Menopause is a natural transition from the normal reproductive stage of a woman. It causes a reduction and fluctuation of hormonal levels. More importantly, it causes emotional disturbances.

The sum total of all creates many disorders, including hot flashes for the menopausal women.

A hot flash attack dilates the blood vessels on the upper body and allows more blood to flow. It creates a hot feeling on the neck and the face, a flushed face and other symptoms. It may last from a few seconds up to an hour.

In intensity and duration it may be mild, moderate or severe. The first line of defense is to identify the trigger and avoid it. It is possible to manage the problem when it is mild, without any medication. Lifestyle modifications, reducing stress and some dietary changes can take care of the problem. In moderate hot flashes, additional nonprescription medication is necessary. Vitamins E and B6 and Peridin-e tablets help reduce the effect. Herbal remedies that may help include black cohosh, ginseng, dong quai, wild yam root, prime rose oil and sage tea. But the effect of herbal remedies in the case of women who have had breast cancer is not known. So care should be taken in such cases.

Acupuncture is a very promising line of treatment. Dr. Tomasz M. Beer of OHSU Cancer Institute says, x93Acupuncture is a low toxicity treatment that may offer important symptomatic relief to cancer patients who suffer from hot flashesx94. When the problem is severe and does not respond appreciably to management, hormonal replacement and other prescription drugs become necessary.

Estrogen therapy has proved to be the most effective therapy for hot flashes. But the potential side effects, like endometrial cancer, make it the last resort. An anti-depressant drug, venlafaxine, offers a good nonhormonal treatment for hot flashes. The Mayo Clinicx92s Dr. Charles says, x93I am not aware of any other non-hormonal treatment that has been studied that is as effective.x94 The Mayo Clinic came out with a paper which mentioned a pro-gestational agent, MPA, as the most effective nonhormonal treatment for hot flashes. Blood pressure medications like clonidine and Methyldopa also offer some relief for hot flashes.

A menopausal woman suffering from hot flashes has to take an informed personal decision in consultation with her physician on the line of management and treatment to be adopted.

Computer Science Education

The exact definition of computer science is uncertain and is a topic of much debate, due to the diversity of educational programs available in the subject and in the numerous careers that can be pursued by computer science graduates. Simply put, computer science is the study of information, computation, or computer technology such as hardware and software, which may include systems analysis and design; application and system software design; and programming and datacenter operations. On a broader perspective, computer science can also refer to computation of specific results or computational complexity theory.

There are some fields that form the basis of, are correlated to, and tremendously important to computer science, such as Mathematical Foundations, Theoretical Computer Science, Computer Systems Organization, Data and Information Systems, Computing Methodologies, Computer Applications, Computing Milieux, and Hardware and Software. Because of the diversity inherent in computer science, its subfields are also classified by a number of methods, such as the ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) Classification System.

In general, the subfields of modern computer science include Algorithms, Artificial Intelligence, Bioinformatics, Computer Engineering, Computer Graphics, Computer Programming, Computer Vision, Computing, Computing Formal Grammar, Information Science or Informatics, Information Security, Information Retrieval, Information Systems, Information Technology, Lexicography, Linguistics, Logistics, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, and Software Engineering.

For those pursuing a career in computer science, there are many opportunities available such as Software Programming, Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Analysis, Database Administration, Network Administration, Robotics Engineering, Graphic Arts, Internet System Administration, Telecommunications, CAD-CAM Technicians, Web Development, and much more.

CAD

With the advent of hyper-advancement of computer technology came Computer-Aided Design (CAD). CAD is basically a professional aide in designing that was first offered to engineers and architects. Its popularity and reputation were soon recognized by other technical people in the field of design and construction and even mere design aficionados with little or no amount of formal professional training.

CAD mostly involves the CAD software and some specialty hardware. Among the capabilities of CAD are wire-frame geometry creation; three-dimensional parametric feature-based modeling; solid modeling; freeform-surface modeling; automated design of assemblies (which are collections of parts and/or other assemblies); creation of engineering drawings from solid models; electrical-component packaging; inclusion of programming code in a model to control and relate desired attributes of the model; programmable design studies and optimization; sophisticated visual-analysis routines, for draft, curvature, curvature continuity and many others.

CAD made the look of modern buildings possible. Most architectural firms can’t do without CAD technology, since this has been the accepted design instrument since the late 1980s. Building structures are easily checked and perused for errors.

Actually, CAD is the precursor of computer animation. CAD was first used to produce three-dimensional surface modeling and calculation for automobile and aircraft industries in the 1960s. This was made possible by the mathematical calculations and work described by Isaac Jacob Schoenberg in the 1940s. His work was supplemented by the findings of another brilliant mathematician named Roy Liming, who contributed so much to the understanding and application of polynomial curves and sculptured surface.

You might encounter CAD translated as “Computer-Assisted” or “Computer-Aided Drafting” or any similar phrase—all of which are synonymous except for some subtle differences in specification and semiotics. Those who wish to catch up on the latest CAD Technology or learn CAD can enroll in the CAD Schools that are often run by CAD software providers themselves.

Envelopes

The envelope is an essential part of home and business communication. It is basically a receptacle for transporting letters, booklets, catalogs, coins, mailers, and invitations, CDs, photos, artwork, magazines and much more.

Envelopes can be divided into two major categories, for business and for personal use. They are found in abundant and attractive shapes, sizes, colors, materials and designs. Shapes are generally square and rectangle, and sometimes triangular. Sizes can range from 3 inches to 36 inches for special items. Sizes are also commonly known by a terminology, such as A2, which indicates 4 3/8 x 5 3/4 sized envelope. Similarly there are #10, A6, 2PAY and other names by which envelopes are categorized.

Colors exist from pale, transparent types to bright, metallic. The texture could be plain or with patterns. Generally envelopes are made from paper. But some are foil, corrugated sheets, plastic, paperboard and bubbled material. Again they could be lined with linen cloth from the inside for extra strength.

For sending CD’s, magnetic cards, medical imaging products and coins, special envelopes are available with regular, pointed, curved or hexed flap, open ended, with clasp, with window, button and string, gummed or with a peel and seal feature. For the environment conscious, envelopes are available in recycled paper with colors like natural tan, manila, white or unbleached.

Addressing and dispatching envelopes has become big business. Often the job is outsourced to companies and individuals. Although automatic insertion machines are also available, they can accommodate only few specific sizes and types of envelopes. Special software is used for printing addresses.

Until 1840 all envelopes were made by hand. But now this worldwide industry of over 400 billion envelopes manufactured by machines.

An Introduction To Mesothelioma Lawsuits

Federal law in the US entitles individuals diagnosed with mesothelioma to file a lawsuit against the errant company or companies. Mesothelioma, being a deadly form of cancer, ruins the prospects of victims and their families. This effectively means that mesothelioma lawsuits are a necessity x96 something that can mitigate the sufferings of the family.

Mesothelioma lawsuits are complex, and hence require the services of expert mesothelioma lawyers or law firms. Since the disease has an extremely long latency period, the manifestation of the disease can come after several decades of actual exposure to asbestos. For instance, in several cases it was found that people now being diagnosed with mesothelioma were exposed to asbestos thirty to forty years ago, or even before that. Consequently, mesothelioma lawsuits become extremely challenging, as they call for extraordinary efforts on the part of the lawyers or law firms. Mesothelioma lawsuits often result in millions of dollars for the victims.

While dealing with mesothelioma, it is pertinent to remember a few basic things about mesothelioma lawsuits. Perhaps the most important is the fact that mesothelioma patients should file their lawsuits almost immediately upon diagnosis. This is because many states across the US have a time limit for filing mesothelioma lawsuits.

Mesothelioma lawsuits are a boon for ailing family members or dependents when the earning member is diagnosed with the cancer. The lawsuit seeks to offer a secure future to the dependent family members, and also helps them to treat the patient. In case mesothelioma is diagnosed too late and the patient passes away, the regulations are slightly different. However, even in this case, it is advisable for family members to file the lawsuit as soon as possible in order to realize a successful settlement.

Individuals can also file a lawsuit if they have respiratory problems and are a close family member of someone who worked with asbestos. It is possible that individuals working with asbestos may have carried asbestos dust and fibers to their homes, thereby infecting other members. Although it is understood that the patients identified with mesothelioma may not come out of the painful experience of parting with their near and dear ones, lawsuits often help by mitigating the pain to an extent by providing a secure future.

Malignant Peritoneal Mesothelioma

Malignant peritoneal mesothelioma is a cancer of the peritoneum, or tissue lining the abdomen and some of its organs. This lining tissue provides a small amount of lubricating fluid that allows organs in the gut to move and work properly. This cancer accounts for approximately ten percent of all malignant mesotheliomas and is therefore rarer than malignant pleural mesothelioma, which affects the tissue lining the chest and lungs. Irrespective of location, the majority of malignant mesotheliomas are associated with exposure to asbestos.

A person with malignant peritoneal mesothelioma may be diagnosed because of complaints such as an abdominal lump or swelling, unexplained weight loss, fever, loss of appetite, abdominal pain, nausea, and constipation caused by bowel obstruction. There are many other conditions that could cause similar symptoms, and in the absence of an accurate history of asbestos exposure, a diagnosis of malignant peritoneal mesothelioma may be missed.

When malignant peritoneal mesothelioma is suspected, the patient’s doctor orders a CT scan or an MRI to detect the presence of any abnormality in the abdomen. If features suggesting this cancer are present, a biopsy of the potentially cancerous tissue is taken to determine the types of cells in this tissue.

Once diagnosed, the exact treatment and the eventual outcome depend on the types of cells found in the cancer. People with epithelioid cell cancers typically have the best survival, followed by those with mixed cell cancers. Sarcomatoid cell cancers carry the worst prognosis. The average survival time is approximately one year, and five-year survival is lower than ten percent. Because of this poor prognosis, the cancer is treated as aggressively as the patient’s overall physical condition allows, with some combination of surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Surgery helps remove the bulk of the cancer. Radiotherapy and chemotherapy are then used to kill the remaining cancer cells.

Retail Recruiting

The process of retail recruiting requires an energetic and experienced group of professionals, equipped with retail industry information and skill. There are recruiting agencies that specialize in delivering national and international retail industry requirements.

Retail recruiting may involve filling various positions, such as the CEO, president, senior vice president, director, manager, or engineer. Retail recruiting also involves the procedure adopted in the case of account managers and account executives.

Retail recruiting differs due to the potential prospects having diverse backgrounds. The database is large, and there are many applicants with different educational backgrounds. In the case of the candidates currently working with the organization, it becomes easier to assess and communicate with them.

It is suggested that every employer turn to current and former employees, suppliers, and customers. Employers should reward them properly for recognizing quality and for referrals. It is recommended for the management to measure and allocate awards to all managers, depending on how well each of recruits and retains the existing talent.

One of the advanced tools for successful retail recruitment includes the creation of a profile. The short-listed candidates may have many things in common and making a profile of the top employees, is a good idea. The management can make use of this concept of the behavior profile to fine-tune the retail recruiting process and build a referral program and get every employee to become a recruiter.

Another aspect of retail recruiting involves the management looking for people who are not aware of the firm or product. This may apply in the case of the product being too fashionable, expensive, or not used by the community. This means that the prospective employee has to be made aware of the product by the distribution of free samples.

Supply Chain

Producers normally use a number of marketing intermediaries for getting their products to users. Marketing intermediaries bear a variety of names such as sole selling agents, marketers, wholesalers, distributors, stockists, franchised dealers, retailers, brokers and jobbers. All such intermediaries constitute the supply chain. The depot/ showrooms and other direct outlets also form part of the supply chain.

Supply chains play a pivotal role in the successful marketing of most products, especially consumer products. First of all, supply chains bring together the makers and the users in an efficient and economic manner. It will not be practical for any manufacturer to organize a network of his own selling points throughout the market and sell his products directly to consumers, totally avoiding outside distribution channels. Just like mass manufacturing, mass distribution needs large resources in terms of money, materials and manpower.

No manufacturer can easily command such resources. Even assuming that the resources could be found, the question arises whether it would be advantageous for the manufacturer to carry out the distribution function by himself, totally avoiding marketing intermediaries. Analysis shows that there are more disadvantages than advantages in doing so. If intermediaries are not there, the firm will have to make direct contacts with far too many widely-scattered customers. Marketing intermediaries minimize the number of contacts the firm has to make to sell its products. In other words, these intermediaries confer on the firm the vital advantage of distributional efficiency.

Supply chains combine the products and components manufactured by different firms, and offer them in the form of assortments that are convenient to final users. The final users, in most cases, actually need an assortment of items; they do not prefer to shop at outlets, which fail to provide an assortment of all the products that they require.

Business Card Printing

Business cards are usually printed on a four-color press. A card is referred to as a ‘four over zero’ when it is a full color in the front, without a back. It is called a ‘four over one’ when it is a full color in the front, with a black and white back, and a ‘four over four’ when it is a full color in the front and the back.

But before you thinking about the printing, you need to determine which aspect of the card is most important to you. Most likely, you will be concerned about the quality of the cards, limited as you might be by a particular model of a printer. So if your card has an image on it, printers say it is best to use glossy paper. On an inkjet printer, this will ensure the print looks as good as the real image. The paper cost is double when compared to ordinary paper, but the quality is superior.

You must, however, remember that inkjets have a strange way of zooming the print output, though only slightly. While this may not affect the clarity of the print, it might cause each of the next rows of cards to be slightly offset. While this does not happen in the case of laser printers, the best way to tackle it is to use the Scale field while setting printer calibration. Also, do not forget to set the desired print quality and color options in the Print dialog.

Textured paper is a good idea if you want to give the card a unique look. It is not something companies use often. One thing to remember, however, is that glossy and textured cards are not compatible with laser printers.
